SubDownloader hits Debian and soon Ubuntu
Posted on | January 2, 2009 | 5 Comments
SubDownloader is a program for automatically downloads/uploads subtitles for video files video files (DIVX, MPEG, AVI, etc.) and DVD’s using fast hashing.
After packaged it at Debian PAPT with some help from Piotr, it goes trough Debian NEW and hits the unstable archive. Now it’s waiting to be synced and be part of Ubuntu Jaunty (next version that’s coming out).
There is a Portuguese member of the team.. Marco Ferreira. Kudos to him for the great work!
To install it at Debian:
First you need to follow this tutorial to have stable, testing and unstable in your sources.list. After you can do this:
$ sudo apt-get -t unstable install subdownloader
Now you don’t have any excuse to do not have subtitles for your movies. Enjoy it!
Update: It’s now in Ubuntu Jaunty as you can see here.

A versão win32 vai ser alterada para breve, pois os utilizadores como é óbvio estão descontentes. O suporte monetário, deverá ser feito através de algum banner imbutido no programa.

Wow! Thank you!
I always wanted to write in my site something like that. Can I take part of your post to my blog?
Of course, I will add backlink?
Sincerely, Timur I.
